GOD'S WORK I know that religion is a touchy subject with some and I believe this letter may help if you open your heart and mind .
I think that first we should tear down the walls that divide different groups , you know , Catholic , protestant , Nazarene , Baptist . Jesus Christ is not divided and neither should we be . The next thing that we have to realize is that we can not make it to heaven without Jesus . Some believe that if we are good enough that we can make it on our own . John 14:6 tells us that no one comes to the father except through Jesus . We also know that we have been forgiven by the death of Jesus on the cross . All mans sin had to be dealt with because the wages of sin is death . So when Jesus died he died so that we wouldn't have to . He died for the whole world at one time past , present , future . Some will say why aren't we all going to Heaven then ? That's because you have to except his forgiveness . I like to explain it like this . If I came to your home and put a $10.00 bill on the table and said this is for you and then I left . All you would have to do is pick up the money and put it in your pocket . If you didn't except it and never picked it up , it wouldn't mean that I didn't give it to you .Now even though I gave it to you if you didn't pick it up or except it you could not enjoy the benefits of it . Now ten years go by and the money is still on the table and you finally decide to pick it up or except it , you wouldn't call me and ask me if I would give you the money you would just except it and then thank me for it . Its the same with forgiveness of sins , Jesus died for our sins 2000 years ago we were forgiven then now we need to except it .
When Jesus arose from the dead on the third day he made it possible for us to have everlasting life . Now we need to except Him as our Lord and savior . This is very easy, we do not need to change our life first or clean up our act all we need to do is want Him to come and live in our heart as our lord and savior . We have all heard fancy prayers and heard special music to get saved by , but God looks at the heart and when he see's a change of heart towards him He will be in your heart before you finish your prayer.
Now after you except Him into your heart there will be changes in your life because Jesus will be living in you in the form of the Holy Spirit . Now the Holy Spirit is opposed to the sin nature and the sin nature is opposed to the Holy Spirit . So now when you sin even when you are all alone you will feel guilty , this is the Holy Spirit . Some will say well what if I don't change .
I like to explain it like this . Lets say a person is born cripple and is confined to a wheel chair for many years . One day this person hears of a special Dr. Who can heal them . They have the operation and they are heeled . Would you expect the person who can now walk and run to stay in the chair . NO they would run , leap , and hop they would tell everyone of this special Dr. and especially those who were crippled as they were . They would love this Dr. and do whatever He said because they would trust him completely .
This is how a Christian will be, they will want everyone to know the one that heeled them and saved them . They will not sit quietly by and watch as others sit crippled by sin and have no hope .
They will not be selfish with the great gift that they have been given . They will listen to Jesus and do as he says because they trust him completely .
